Alright, guys. We've been working under the flipped classroom model for a
week now. What do you think about it so far? What are the pros and cons
now that you're in it? Let's talk about it!
I really liked how we could watch the video's because we could stop it & write & then we could go & look back if we didn't understand. But I really hope we can do this the whole school year!
It's funny you say that about the notes, because I thought the same thing. I HATE having to give you guys notes in class because some people are done writing super quick, and other people need more time. I always feel bad rushing people.

yes I did. it helped a lot because sometimes I wouldn't be able to understand the mini-lessons that we had in class because they were always too rushed or unproductive. now I can watch them at my own pace without being distracted which is a lot better
That's how I feel too! Like if we missed something we didn't have to disrupt the class to ask Mrs. Boehle to repeat what she said! You could just rewatch that part of the video! One of my favorite parts about the flip classroom!
One thing that came up in first hour was that some people might not be able to handle the responsibility of watching the videos. These videos take the place of my teaching, so they're pretty important to watch. How do you guys think we can make sure everyone watches them?
make it that if we watched a video we have to take a quiz at the end then if a person forgets to watch one. You can say "Hey, I didn't get the grade from you." But also some people probably don't have a way to even watch the video.
That's true, but it would be there own fault if they didn't watch it, kind of how you said all of your high school students said you didn't give them enough responsibility. This just means that we can't come back and complain to you, instead we can thank you:)

I think that you should put a key word in the videos that means something else, just something fun to do in the video and see how many people actually watched the video by asking what the word was. Just a suggestion. :)

Next question: How did you guys feel about the workload this week? You had to watch two videos, take notes, do a reading response and you got a language packet that's due next week. Was that pretty manageable?
Then it's just like any other class, right? That's kind of the thing about having a bunch of different teachers - you have to do a lot for all of them.
When you're doing a reading response you are actually writing and having a whole thinking process about what you're writing. Watching a 25 minute video, beside taking the notes that you have written down, it's just us sitting there watching you. We obviously try our very best to listen and comprehend what you are telling us in these videos, but we might be thinking of something previous in the video, like the notes we take. We also might have questions that need to be answered.
Well, I think the whole thing is a neat concept, especially with the use of the Internet for lessons and whatnot (even if people these days are always wrapped up in devices, even though it's somewhat hypocritical since I'm also a part of that group- offline I don't talk much but I can be a big chatterbox on the Internet when it comes to some things, okay I'll stop intentionally droning now). I do think it's going to be a bit annoying having to watch videos at home- it's exactly like homework, because technically it IS homework- because I don't believe in homework, like nearly every other kid in the world, but it's great that you can always re-watch parts if you don't get/missed something. Using this blog for interacting with other people is a GREAT idea, because I'm more comfortable talking online, and I'm very familiar with Blogger. Also because it feels like a school-geared social media site. :P I think that's about it, if I remember anything else I wanted to put out there, I'll just come back. Since I don't know how to wrap this comment up, so I'll just remind you that the Illuminati is watching (yes, my unhealthy obsession with the Illuminati carries on in the Internet, though in other places online I have better things to talk about). 0.0

I really like the idea of a flipped classroom mainly because of the online videos and notes. I usually have a pretty busy schedule, and being able to watch the videos whenever is something I find very helpful. Plus, if I don't understand a topic in the lesson, I can come on here and ask a question or rewind the parts of the video that I found confusing. Overall, the whole idea seen pretty cool! :)
I didn't really think about it, but you can literally watch them anywhere if you have a phone. Like, if you're in the car with your parents, or waiting for a table at a restaurant. You could even just watch like five minutes at a time if you needed too. Good point.
Right, and I don't want to punish people for that. I'm here for at least a half hour every day after school, so maybe people could stay after to watch them if they don't want to do it in class?
I really like using this site for interacting, though I wish the process was a bit faster. Would you be able to add a chat box page on the site so we can chat with each other in real time (if you're worried about what goes through and stuff like that, I recommend Chatango for a chat box. They have settings where certain words and phrases can be censored)?
Hmm. I wonder. That would be pretty cool. This annoys me too, and a chat box would be way easier. I will look into it for sure! Thanks for the suggestion, Bryce. :)
I feel like it would be a good idea to do this all year. I like the fact that we get to watch it however many times we want and whenever we want. now if kids are sick from school or on vacation, they can still watch the video online to see what they missed
I think it could but there's gonna be a decent amount of people slacking, not watching videos, waiting till the last minute and i just dont really think it would be something to do with the whole year and because i have trouble getting stuff done on my own t8me because i forget things alot
