Alright, guys. We've been working under the flipped classroom model for a
week now. What do you think about it so far? What are the pros and cons
now that you're in it? Let's talk about it!
Someone in 6th hour said that they have a 45-minute drive to hockey practice like three times a week, and they've been able to watch my videos in the car. I love the convenience of being able to watch them anywhere.
i think that sitting in a classroom teaching has to be wayyyyyy more stressful for you.... so you help out all of us by doing this and its a lot easier to understand
Yeah, I definitely don't want to punish people who don't have access to the internet at home. I am here for at least 30 minutes every day after school, so that's always an option if people want to stay after.
It is really easy for us to do the flipped classrom compared to regular classes because now we can re-watch the videos until we understand it fully which is amazing for me.
Some pros and cons about the whole flipped classroom thing is that sometimes you're absent and you're not notified when a new video is posted. Then again, it's up to you to go look.
I think it's good because it gives us a chance to watch the lesson again if we don't understand something but it could be bad if people choose not to watch it.
Emily just mentioned this, as have other people today. What do we do if people are choosing not to watch the videos? They take the place of my teaching, so they're pretty important to watch. How can we make sure everyone is being responsible?
well if you choose not to watch the video that person will be very confused during the week and it would not be a very wise choice to not watch the video
What would you guys think about me giving you a participation grade for taking notes while you watch the videos? It would be an easy grade for you and it would definitely let me know who isn't watching the videos.

yea that is one of the downs to this but there are a lot more ups to it like we can watch it until we completely understand it. but your completely right about that Kali
I really do think that this was a great idea on Mrs. Boehle's part because of the reason that we can rewatch the videos until we understand it. ( and to find the meme faces. lol)
How did you guys feel about the workload this week? You had two videos to watch, notes to take, a response to write and a vocab packet that isn't due until next week. Was that pretty manageable?
i agree. but would that be fair? if we did that the people who dont understand it wouldnt be learning and those who do wont be getting the grades they earned
if someone doesnt watch the videos then yea its their loss. but mrs boehle will be able to see if you did or not due to the fact that she can tell when you dont understand and that it will affect your grades as well.
i think this whole flipped classroom thing is also a good way for people to be able to actually speak their opinions about whats being taught, like with this discussion that we're having right now. that way people aren't so shy and we can actually understand everyone's thoughts and ideas.
This is a good thing. the chat window i mean cuz we can talk to eachother about school when we are on the bus or at home. so we can still be communicating with one another
YES! It is super easy for us and I assume for you as well. And it is better than sitting in a classroom and only being able to hear something said once
Im thinking just about the same thing . just i think that this is one of the absolute best ways for us nowadays with all the new technology and ways of communication to be learning and still be going to school and actually interacting eith other human beings.
Yeah I could see us doing it all year because it is going to help us the videos are great when you need help so just watch a video and you are good to go.
Yes because lets say your tired or dont feel the best that day with this you can go home and get a better understanding this is also great if your absent or even on vacation if you take homework with you you can get it f one write with full understanding its a teacher in your hand and with chat box you can still ask questons
i feel like this chat will give students the opportunity to say what we think and how we feel without having to say it face to face. i think that this will make some of us feel more comfortable participating with each other.
