Book: Hero by Mike Lupica

My main Character is Zach Harriman, a regular kid intill his father is killed by who he thinks is the "Bads". But know one can prove it! for all they know the bads are not real,just a made up team of villians created by his father. But soon he finds out that his father was a real SUPERHERO!! And threw a twisted turn of events Zach finds out that he will be taking over in his fathers place! So now he must fight bullys during the day and villians at night! But he is having trouble with family and a mysterious man at the same time! This is important because Zach always thought his father just worked for the president but really he did both! So he is trying to figure out how he got his powers and how his father died, but between his "Uncle" and Mr.harriman he has no idea on how to find his true destiney! This helps me understand that even superheros can have trouble and how hard it can be when trying to figure out what you were ment to do! I think he will figure it out and still be happy!
It sounds like Zach has a long road ahead of him if he's expected to take over for his father. A lot of times, authors give their main characters so many problems it seems like there's no way that person can handle it, but then they always wind up "winning" in the end. Does Zach seem like a strong enough person to overcome all of the obstacles in his way? What about him makes him a "winner"?

DeleteSlam, by Walter Dean Myers: topic main character.
ReplyDeleteRight now in my book the main characters name is Slam. My character is kind of cocky. I know this because in the book he also brags to his friends of how good he is at basketball. Something that is happening in my book is that slam has just made the basketball team. His high school team is getting ready for the first game witch is against Carver. Slam best friend Ice is on the team will Slam win or will Ice win? Something i have noticed about the Slams behavior is that he is starting to get in the crack buisness with his friend Ice. I know that because it says in the book that all of a sudden that ice and slam have got a bunch of money so i think that they have been selling drugs. will the law get them or will they get to play in the basketball game agasinst each other
Hmm, I wonder how getting into selling drugs is going to affect Slam's basketball playing. What do you think will happen? Think he'll get arrested? Addicted to drugs? Killed by a rival? I can't wait to hear what happens next!

Topic: Conflict
RIGHT NOW IN MY BOOK, a huge source of conflict is the political race for mayor between G.T., the owner of The Welcome Stairways and Eli Millstone, the current mayor. Eli Millstone is a huge bully and uses thugs to intimidate the townspeople to give him their support. In an attempt to frighten G.T., Millstone has one of his thugs drive a hearse by G.T.’s restaurant every day. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE G.T. has cancer and is currently undergoing treatment for it. It has to be terrifying to wake up every day knowing that you have a disease that is trying to kill you, but now Millstone is making the message even clearer. It’s almost as if he hopes that G.T. will die or is trying to remind G.T. that he is dying. THIS HELPS ME UNDERSTAND that Millstone is kind of an evil guy, and that if he’ll stoop to threatening a dying man, there’s probably not much he wouldn’t do to win this campaign.

im reading catching fire and my topic is about katniss. so far katniss has been through a lot. her best friend gale had gotten whipped shes gotten married with peeta, she is now in the 75th annual HUNGER GAMES. and her friend mags also died during that. so close 2 finishing it gonna read MOCKINGJAY soon. :)

In my book Harry Potter is turning 18 in a few months and Hagrid, Hermione, and Ron are helping with a few other people to move Harry to a safer envirement. On the way someone tells the evial Lord Voldrmort that Harry is getting moved that night. As Harry gets ready to fly into the clouds there are wizards flying and people fighting in the air to protect Harry. One of voldrmorts fallowers (Death Eaters)cast a spell and it hits Hagrid, in witch Harry is riding with. With Hagrid knocked out and Harry finding for his life Lord Voldrmort trys to kill Harry with someone elses wand and does not succed. After the fight with Lord Voldrmort Harry is feeling quesy and blacks out and the bike comes to a crash.
Good summary, but make sure to include why it's important and what it helps you understand if you want full points! Look back up at my example if you need help.

Right now in the book there is this little girl named Nhamo. Nhamo is kinda like me because she has to do a lot of things and if she doesn't do it she will get into trouble.This is important because in the text it says "Nhamo!,you lazy girl! its your turn to pound the mealies" " her body worked all day planting, weeding, baby sitting, washing-oh, so many chores" this help me understand people even if they are poor they still have to do a lot to get any food. nhamo is like me because i have to do a lot of chores and if i dont do them i would get into trouble
Haha, I feel like you and Nhamo might be friends. :) Why does Nhamo have to do so much? Does she have brothers and sisters who help her, or is she being mistreated by her parents? Curious minds want to know! :)

In the begining of my book Desi is working in a pet store and she wants a new job so she looks in the paper and she foun this ad to become a princess.This is important because she gets to be a princess for a little bit.This helps me understand the title because it starts out by Desi in a pet shop.
Meredith, tell me more about Desi wanting to be a princess. What does that mean? What is the actual job? And why is it important to her to become a princess, even if it's only for a little while?

right now in my book the main character steve is in the court house. But he is not there for fun, he is there in handcuffs. this is important because if the judge decides he is a murderer he could be sentenced to life in prison or worse the death penalty! This helps me to understand that what steve did was very serious and that I hope he doesn't have to die. I think the author is setting a sad and dark mood because the story is showing that steve is sad and even a bit scared
Nice work, Gunner. I think you're right about the setting. I doubt any author would make the setting a jail unless it was a sad story. I'm excited for you to keep reading about Steve and his trial.

He built the C cube based off the fairy technology he took in book one.A guy named Jon Spiro took the C cube.This is bad because it could put the fairy world into trouble.So Artemis has to go get it with the help of a fairy.This makes me think that something bad is going to happen with fairy magic.
