Were there any particular quotes or passages in this book that stood out to you? Maybe something that you thought was very wise, powerful, funny or particularly sad? Why did it stand out to you?
/code orange \ \extra credit / it stood out when doc gave Lucas the microscope and Lucas didn't know a microscope was even a thing. he was so exited and at the end of the book they found the cure for consumption so that changed the story and that stood out because it was the cure they where looking for in the entire book.
Something very powerful and sad that happen in my Historical book was when Mattie tryed to get the burgler off of grandpa by stabbing him with a sword and what was sad was that he died and he shouldnt of went through that tragic event. By helping and being a hero instead of doing more damage to him or her was great.
When I read the beginning of this book, I was shocked to see how laid back Mitty was. It seems that he hardly cares about anything. He does care about a FEW things, but that's just it. He barely cares about school (Hardly at passing, except Math), he does most of his assignments at the last moment, doesn't make much effort to study, etc.
I can predict that because of this, he might end up in 'boiling water'. I say that, because, almost always, in books and movies I've seen/read, something happens to the laid back person.
Book:Fever 1793 Author of speak In my book it seemed that Mattie has a lot of chores in the coffeehouse, I thought she was strong because she has to wake up bright and early ever morning to clean and work in the garden at the coffeehouse.
